The Edmondson family has proudly crafted Edco Brand products for nearly 70 years. The story began in 1941, when Rennie Edmondson and his sons, Edgar and Harry, launched a cotton weaving operation in Marrickville, a suburb of Sydney.

Edco Cleaning Products is Australia’s largest family-owned wholesaler of cleaning and janitorial products. Its products are designed to offer the best in quality and value and have been proudly cleaning Australia since 1941.

Initially, the business supported the Australian armed forces during World War II, producing essential supplies like bandages, blankets, and parachute harnesses. As demand grew, so did the product range—expanding to include cotton-based cleaning essentials such as dish cloths, Dorset cloths, and mops.

During the 1970s through to the 1990s, Edmondson products earned national recognition. The NSW Department of Health selected their blankets for statewide supply, while iconic Australian brand R.M. Williams chose the Edmondson Brothers to manufacture the fabric for its legendary Moleskin trousers.

Edco’s strong focus on cleaning products emerged in the 1950s, when the Edmondsons became the Australian agents for Spontex—the inventors of cellulose sponge. Since then, Edco has built a reputation as a trusted cleaning solutions provider, supplying over 90% of Australia’s private label cleaning products to major supermarket retailers.
